The Data Manager at Iterative Health will play a critical role in building and managing the data and dashboards that supports how we operate, make decisions, and scale the business. This role will ensure our data is accurate, accessible, secure, well-governed, and effectively managed across our growing technology ecosystem.

Reporting to the Director of IT and working directly with Finance and other G&A leaders, the Data Manager will own and drive data management, governance, and quality practices across the organization. This includes establishing scalable standards and processes, improving data integrity across systems, supporting data integrations and migrations, and creating greater visibility into how data is captured, managed, and used across the business.

This is an opportunity to build foundational data capabilities from the ground up, bring greater consistency and structure to our data environment, and help ensure Iterative Health has trusted data to support both day-to-day operations and long-term growth.

Where You'll Drive Impact

• Build, maintain, and improve dashboards, reports, and analytics tools in Amazon QuickSight, Metabase, PowerBI and other BI platforms using data stored across our AWS environment.
• Partner with business teams to understand reporting and analytics needs, translate those needs into clear data requirements, and develop dashboards that make important business metrics easy to understand and act on.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to analyze data, create reporting datasets, troubleshoot issues, and support scalable dashboarding and analytics.
• Develop a strong understanding of our underlying data models and business processes to ensure dashboards and metrics accurately reflect how the organization operates.
• Define and maintain consistent business metrics, calculations, data definitions, and reporting logic across dashboards and teams.
• Validate dashboard outputs against source systems, identify data quality issues, and work with engineering, IT, and system owners to resolve discrepancies.
• Design dashboards that are intuitive, performant, and useful to both operational teams and leadership.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and replace manual Excel- or spreadsheet-based processes with scalable dashboards and data products.
• Partner with data and engineering teams to improve reporting datasets, data models, and pipelines as new analytics needs emerge.
• Help establish standards and documentation for dashboards, metrics, data sources, and reporting logic so that analytics remain accurate and maintainable as Iterative Health grows.
• Support ad hoc analysis and other data and reporting priorities across the organization as needed.

What You'll Bring

• 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data analysis, reporting, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and business sense. Able to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences with ease.
• Strong SQL skills and experience querying relational databases and working with large datasets.
• Experience building production dashboards and reports in BI tools such as Amazon QuickSight, Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Experience translating business questions into metrics, analyses, datasets, and dashboards.
• Strong understanding of data visualization and dashboard design, including how to present complex information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to understand data models, relationships between datasets, and how data flows from source systems into reporting environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate unexpected results and identify the root cause of data discrepancies.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of ownership over the accuracy and reliability of reporting.
• Ability to communicate technical and analytical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working cross-functionally with business, technology, and data teams.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting and analytics priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred.

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with Amazon QuickSight and/or Metabase.
• Experience working with data and databases hosted in AWS.
• Familiarity with AWS data services such as RDS, Redshift, Athena, S3, or related technologies.
• Experience creating reporting-ready datasets or semantic layers for use across multiple dashboards.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, or modern data warehouses.
• Experience working with healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or other regulated data.
• Experience building executive-level and operational dashboards used to manage business performance.
• Experience automating reporting processes or migrating reporting from Excel and other manual workflows into BI platforms.
• Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data analysis and automation

What You Bring to the Team

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data management, data governance, business systems, data operations, or a related field.
• Experience developing and implementing data governance and data quality processes.
• Strong understanding of data structures, data lifecycle management, data integration, and data architecture concepts.
• Experience working across multiple business systems and understanding how data moves between systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing complex datasets and cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with data management, reporting, BI, or data governance tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, clinical research, health technology, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience with HIPAA, SOC 2, or other data privacy and security frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise applications such as HRIS, ERP, CRM, ATS, or clinical systems.
• Experience with SQL, data visualization tools, or modern data platforms.
• Experience supporting data migrations, system implementations, or M&A integrations.
• Experience establishing data governance programs in a growing organization.

$125,000—$160,000 USD
